The third season of The Mandalorian is already in development, according to Variety. Despite the fact that the second season will debut next October at Disney+, Mickey Mouse and his managers do not intend to waste any time and are already planning the immediate future of the popular series, which at the end of 2019 became an internet phenomenon. Much of its success is due, mainly, to the surprising appearance of Baby Yoda, who quickly won over all Star Wars fans.
According to the aforementioned media, Jon Favreau, head of The Mandalorian, is writing the script for the third season. The also considered father of Marvel’s Cinematographic Universe recognized a few months ago that he has ideas for future seasons, although he did not want to deepen where the narrative is heading. In addition, the source points out that the artists in the series have already been working on concepts for several weeks.
Of course, it’s still too early to talk about a release date for season 3. While most of us expect it by the end of 2021, it’s likely that Disney will make adjustments to its release schedule to make room for other Star Wars series. Let’s remember that the productions of Cassian Andor with Diego Luna and Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) are on the way. We don’t know if the plan of the company is to launch several series of the franchise during the same year.
